More Friendly Fire From The Open Carry Movement

Open carriers have struck again, handing another victory to gun control activists and opponents of the Second Amendment. Thanks to the shenanigans of these idiots, Target has now joined Starbucks and Chipotle in asking customers not to bring guns to its stores.

Open carry activists have officially accomplished the exact opposite of what they set out to do. Instead of expanding gun rights, they’ve ensured that one of the biggest retail chains in the country is essentially a gun free zone. 

As you might expect, the left wing media could not be happier. A quick Google search reveals that dozens of liberal publications have already jumped on this story, including Huffington Post, the New York Daily News and the Washington Post.

Tell me – how does being ridiculed in half of the country’s newspapers help the Second Amendment cause?

Peacocking around with an assault rifle is simply not going to help promote the Second Amendment. All it will do is scare away moderates and independents and drive them to side with our opponents.

These tactics are especially alienating to businesses, as the news from Target proves yet again. At the end of the day, companies like Target are going to protect their profits and side with the majority of their customers. You can’t really blame them for not wanting people with assault rifles roaming the aisles and driving shoppers over to Wal-Mart. 

The ruling is in: the “open carry” movement is a self-defeating failure.
